Courtney Phillips, Owner

Courtney graduated from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy in 2005 and has been a registered member of the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba since. In 2009, Courtney joined the Joint Effort team. She was amazed at the passion and drive of her colleges here and quickly strived for that same level of excellence. In 2010, she became partner of Joint Effort Sports Injury Clinic and Pro(Ag)gressive Fitness Centre. Courtney prides herself on her ability to care and listen to the needs of others. She has a strong belief in the importance of taking an active approach to one’s health and wellbeing and that although Massage Therapy is a key component it is only one piece of the puzzle.


Thomas Ripley CSCS, BioSignature Modulation Level I

Tom graduated with an honors degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba in 2007. After working in the retirement planning software industry and training at Pro(Ag)gressive Fitness, Tom took on a position at Pro(Ag)gressive Fitness in 2009 to follow what he has been passionate about for eight years now.

A strength training enthusiast, Tom completed the NSCA’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification in 2010 and began taking on private training clients, leading group training programs, and overseeing holistic dietary and supplement protocols. Tom has already overseen the physical transformation of dozens of clients and believes in being healthy, lean, and strong.

Tom works with clients of all ages with wide varieties of goals. He has five years experience coaching Grade 8 and Junior Varsity basketball, is an avid and opinionated sports fan, and has had his writing appear in Inside Fitness Magazine. Tom is a believer in practicing all that he preaches.


Mike Derkach BKin, CAT(C), CSCS

Mike graduated from the University of Manitoba with Bachelor of Kinesiology and obtained his Certified Athletic Therapist designation. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and specializes in FMS and soft tissue release. Mike’s experience includes acting as head AT for the Winnipeg Goldeyes and Assistant AT for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. More recently, Mike has shifted his focus to strength and conditioning. He enjoys working with clients of all fitness levels and takes pride in a holistic approach to his training using his therapy background to reach each clients optimal fitness levels.

Mike continues to work with Canada’s national baseball and soccer teams on a part time basis.

 


Jennifer Davis-Persaud, B.E.S.S., CAT(C)

Jennifer Davis-Persaud graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2006 with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science in Athletic Therapy. She has worked in private practice clinics since graduation working with clients of all ages. She has experience with orthopedic bracing, Kenisio taping and orthotics assessment and casting and continues to take courses to advance her knowledge in a variety of rehabilitation techniques. Jennifer has done field work with a variety of sports teams including the University of Manitoba Men’s Basketball and Swim teams and more recently has been working with the Southend Men’s and Woman’s senior premier soccer teams. Outside of the clinic, Jennifer plays a variety of sports including woman’s premier soccer, touch football and coed soccer. An avid runner Jennifer has also completed many half marathons.


Jason Tsang, BKin-AT, CAT(C)

Jason graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Kinesiology specializing in Athletic Therapy. After graduation, he certified through the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. Jason’s experience includes working with the University of Manitoba Men’s Basketball team, Balmoral Hall Prep Hockey team, and WSA Winnipeg PDL soccer team. Jason is excited to work with a variety of clients in both rehabilitation and conditioning environments. He believes that exercise is critical to helping people return to work, sport, or simply to enjoy life to its fullest. Jason is regularly searching for new information and techniques to better himself and share with his clientele.
